The Southwestern University Payment Plan is a convenient, flexible and effective means of financing your education by dividing your tuition bill into more manageable, interest-free installments.
The Payment Plan offers two types of payment plans to meet your financing needs as explained below.
The Combined Plan includes financing for the full academic year (both the Fall and Spring semesters). The number of monthly payments is based on your enrollment date in the plan. Although you have the flexibility to make a maximum of 12 monthly payments or a minimum of 7 monthly payments, it is to your advantage to enroll as soon as possible in order to have a lower monthly payment. The monthly payment amount is determined by taking the total dollar amount requested divided by the number of monthly payments for your plan. Open enrollment for the Combined Plan starts on March 1 and closes on Aug. 31.

There are also separate payment plans for the Fall and the Spring semesters, which exist for financing the costs of a single semester. Like the Combined Plan, the number of monthly payments is based on your enrollment date in the plan, and varies from 3 to 5 months as shown below. Since the monthly payment amount is determined based on the total dollar amount requested divided by the number of payments, you are encouraged to sign up for the Fall or Spring plan as soon as possible in order to get a lower monthly payment. Open enrollment for the Fall Semester Plan starts on April 1 and closes on Aug. 31. Open enrollment for the Spring Semester Plan starts on Sept. 1 and closes on Jan. 31.

Payments for both plans are due on the first of the month and are considered late after the 15th of the month. In the event that full payments are not received for 2 months in a row, the Payment Plan is automatically canceled and the full unpaid amount becomes due immediately to Southwestern University.
There is a $40 enrollment fee for each payment plan.
If two separate payment plans are needed (for example: a student has divorced parents), please contact Southwestern University at 512-863-1928 before applying online. A Southwestern University account representative will assist you in properly setting up both plans.
The Payment Plan is a partnership between Southwestern University and ECSI, a third-party administrator. ECSI provides administrative support, such as monthly billing, for the Payment Plan.
Southwestern University Student Accounts staff provides direct customer support for the Payment Plan. They are available to assist in determining how you may best take advantage of the Plan, estimating your educational expense, setting up your Payment Plan account and answering any questions you have during the term of your agreement. In instances when two separate payment plans are needed for the same student, please contact the Student Accounts staff first for help in setting up the plans correctly.
To sign up for the Payment Plan, visit Southwestern’s page on the ECSI Web site.
The Payment Plan is a budgeting device, not a loan. Information on various loan options is available here.
