Alumni Network Mentoring Program
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
We all know that there is something special about the Southwestern alumni community. Now, we’ll see our network in action and support Southwestern students on their career journey.
The Southwestern University Alumni Association invites alumni and students to participate in a bridge program titled the “Alumni Network Mentoring Program,” aimed at connecting community members through their professional areas and affiliations.
The Alumni Network Mentoring Program connects Southwestern juniors with six (6) alumni over the course of the nine (9) months of their junior year (September 2017-May 2018) by phone, Skype or in person. The connections will be based on professional interest, major, student organization involvement, and other areas of academic and co-curricular life.
The Office of Alumni and Parent Relations staff will coach student participants through the networking process, by providing one-on-one consultations and group training sessions.
Registration information is outlined below for alumni and students. The first connections will be made in September 2017.
Consider sharing your wisdom and expertise with Southwestern students. By signing up for this program, you will be matched with three to four juniors during the course of the annual program. You may connect with your student mentees by phone, Skype or in person (e.g., at Homecoming). Please anticipate no more than one connection per month. Click here for a full description of the program and your involvement as an alumnus/a.
To register as a Career Mentor, please visit your Alumni Directory Profile and click the “Career Mentor” button. This will alert the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations that you are interested in connecting with Southwestern students. If you need your Alumni ID Number for access to the Directory, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
