Our Special Collections have materials about Texas and Southwestern history, as well as the papers of Senator John G. Tower.
The Research Commons is a lively place for collaborative work. The 2nd and 3rd floors provide space for quiet study and research. Located throughout the building are wifi, computers, and printers.
The building was dedicated in 1988 and named for A. Frank Smith, Jr. of Houston, TX. He was a distinguished trustee of Southwestern University for more than 25 years and former chair of the Board of Trustees.
