Information Services Departments

Information Technology

Information Technology (IT) provides and supports all aspects of campus computing, audiovisual and telecommunications services. Staff work in collaboration with all of Information Services and the Southwestern community to facilitate the use of current and emerging information technology resources that promote excellence in teaching, learning, research and the administrative operations of the institution.

Library Resources

The Library Resources Department provides students and faculty with access to needed information resources through local and networked collection development, partnerships, loans, and collaborations.

Operations manages the InfoDesk, your one-stop service point for Tech support, Circulation, Reference support, AV checkout, and Pirate Cards. The Operations Department is also responsible for managing building hours, coordinating major and minor renovation projects, reserving library spaces, and any other issue concerning safe and secure use of the building.

Research & Digital Scholarship

Research & Digital Scholarship provides in-person and online research support as well as an instruction program focused on the use of library resources and technologies.

Special Collections

Special Collections holds the library’s rare books and archival collections, including the papers of U.S. Senator (1961-1985), John G. Tower. Over 4000 works were printed before 1900, the earliest of which is a leaf from a Gutenberg Bible.
