Engaging Minds, Transforming Lives

Student Life

SING! is a longstanding Southwestern tradition that draws students and alumni to Alma Thomas Theater to witness student organizations perform short skits featuring song and dance. Performances typically take the form of parodies where faculty, administrators, and current campus events are fair game for a (mostly) light-hearted evening built around a central theme.

Skits are judged by a group of faculty, staff and alumni with awards going to the three groups with the highest point totals. In addition to cash prizes, “People’s Choice Awards” are selected by the audience, including awards for Best Costumes, Best Choreography, Best Music & Best Theme Development.
